Injustice: The Demon of Doom

Injustice is an age-old vice that has tormented humanity since sin found its way to the world. It’s an agent of regression that fights against humanity and posterity. Many mortals have been subject to the burdensome yoke of Injustice at one time or another. With advancing of age, Injustice has gained momentum and has become like a fierce tsunami; it has shaken crucial pillars of our society. The world is writhing in pain in the claws of the demon of doom.
Injustice fans the flames of many social evils on one hand and squeezes life out of the dreams of its victims on the other. The despicable demon of doom has successfully managed to lord it over humans who apparently have a strange weak willpower to fight back. This vice is older than all of us; we come, suffer helplessly, lament endlessly and go. Every time a new life checks-in on earth, the world heaves a sigh of relief and rejoices that finally someone has arrived to take the bull by its horns and put to an end the ruthless illegal reign of Injustice – Ticktock, ticktock…. years pass fast, the menace aggravates and sadly, the sun sets; Injustice mocks the world as the curtain falls for yet another life. No one brave enough to dethrone the demon of doom and exorcise it out of the home of humans has been found yet.
Are we humans so powerless that we permit Injustice to wreak havoc on our earth expedition experience? Apparently, the demon of doom resides in humans; injustice is propagated by humans. However, majority of human beings cannot consciously stomach the guilt of treating a fellow human being unjustly. And if that’s the case then one wonders why Injustice has lingered on earth this long.
Maybe a set of additional questions will give us a better comprehension of the situation – Why is there so much injustice under the sun? What makes someone inconsiderate of the needs, rights and feelings of those weaker than them, so that they propagate injustice against them? What switches off right or wrong receptors in the mind of a responsible and rational human being, causing them to act selfishly and irrationally in a manner that deprives justice to a fellow human being? What hardens the heart of a humane person such that they fail to identify with the needs or rights and the pain and suffering thereof of those their actions disadvantage unjustly?
If we can lay our hands on answers to the questions above, then we can trace the path towards eradication of Injustice. An obvious observation from the questions is that humans are born just, they become unjust at some point later in life. This means that something is introduced into their souls, which transform them from being just to being unjust. And this foreign invader is what we’re referring to as demon of doom. Therefore, to eradicate Injustice we need to exorcise it (the demon of doom) out of humans.
In a previous article, I mentioned that a vice occupies a void that’s meant to be occupied or is left vacant by a virtue. Hence Injustice (demon of doom) as a vice, takes advantage of the absence of a certain virtue and secures illegal residence in the soul of a mortal. Unfortunately, Injustice (demon of doom) is so powerful that once it checks in, it downplays the effectiveness of any other present virtue and assumes sovereignty. Other virtues like mercy, honesty, selflessness, fairness, faithfulness etc. are suppressed when one is under the control of demon of doom. Notably, this demon cracks its whip selectively. For instance, an unjust person does not treat everyone under their influence unjustly. He/she may be merciless, dishonest, selfish, unfair, unfaithful etc. towards a certain group of people but merciful, honest, selfless, fair, faithful etc. towards another.
Generally, injustice is not only propagated by individual men and women but by some world’s systems as well. However, these systems are coined and overseen by men and women, so at the end of the day we get back to human beings as the choice hosts of the demon of doom.
The question in everyone’s mind right now is, ‘which virtue do unjust men and women lack that give room for the demon of doom to assume control?’ A good guess can only lead us to one thing. I started by mentioning that Injustice is a threat to humanity and posterity in every sense. It fans the flames of many social evils and curtails dreams and aspirations of many people. The demon of doom takes advantage of some weak willed and callous humans to propagate its agenda against humanity. It occupies a void in the souls of men and women who lack ‘love and respect for humanity’. Hence, if we can be able to instill this virtue ‘love and respect for humanity’ in every (breath that forms humanity) human, then we can secure Injustice a one-way ticket to abyss.
Now the challenge facing us is, how do we instill ‘love and respect for humanity’ in 7 billion souls?
Follow me on this blog and let’s see what we can do to rid the world of the oppressive demon of doom (Injustice).

Is The Health Of A Nation A Reflection Of The Health Of Its Families?

Family is the basic unit of society. Therefore, it goes without saying that society is a composition of families. Hence, a morally ill society is a reflection of morally ill families. When we talk of social evils like corruption, injustice, misuse of power etc. more often we shift our focus to leaders forgetting that leadership is just a title; these people are children born and bred in our families. For instance, whenever a leader is exposed on issues of integrity or rather lack of it, we descend upon them with hate and criticism; we demonize them and even ostracize them. What hypocrisy! We adopt holier than thou attitudes and forget that we too are hanging on the same integrity scale; the only difference being, we’ve not been placed under an auditor’s lens (Almost every human being is or will be a leader at some point in their life. Whether you’re heading a nation, a religious body, a learning institution, a home etc. as long as someone is looking up to you for guidance, pro...

Modern Family Dilemma

Modern Setting Breadwinning Every Morning Dad and Mom leave the house and go out on a breadwinning mission. End Month Dad and Mom bring home their pay checks. Pen and paper in hand, its budgeting time. Bills, investments etc. are the agendas. On the first day of the month they both hit the road again and the cycle continues. Housework Don’t even go there. It’s a tug of war. Dad says, “Babe where is my food. Please iron my shirt. Feed the baby. And blah blah blah ….” Mom goes like, “Dude are you for real, do I look like a super machine that works on a 24 hr basis while you do 12?” Dad either walks out of the door enraged and goes out to look for consolation elsewhere or retorts bitterly, “you’re my wife and housework is your duty, didn’t your mama train you? Go get my food and stop complaining.” Mom is now weeping and mutters amid sobs, “but honey we’re both doing the breadwinning don’t you think we should share the housework too.” Dad sinks deeper into t...
