How to Unlock Your Potential

To unlock your potential you definitely need a key. Now, this all important key is formed by mixing various ingredients to come up with a final product capable of unlocking any strong door harboring or hampering potential. I know you’re wondering and eager to know what this key is. Apparently, everyone holds the key but only a few get to use it. The reason why so many people lead below par lives is not because they don’t have the tools required for purposeful and fulfilling lives, but because they never realize the key to unlock their potential is already in their possession.
I feel privileged to reveal to you the whereabouts of this key and I hope you’ll pick it up right away and release your potential to freedom.
Ladies and gentlemen, the famed, all important key is, ‘your everyday choices’.
Yes, you heard right, your choices.
You may be wondering, “but I make choices everyday and my potential still lies undiscovered or underutilized?” I agree with you, at least majority of the human population make choices everyday, otherwise every corner of the universe would be littered with zombies. So then where is the disconnect? Life is a product of the choices we make and so, as far as unlocking your full potential is concerned chances are you’ve been making wrong choices hence the snag.
So what kind of choices am I talking about?
To start witnessing blooming of your potential, you need to start making progressive & goal oriented choices.
What does progressive & goal oriented choices mean?
Future is always a product of present, right? In other words, your present actions mold your future. A goal is the end product of dedicated activities carried out with the aim of achieving it. So it is right to say, the ‘dedicated activities’ happen in the present while the end product is found in future. Therefore, 'progressive & goal oriented choices' means, making strategic choices that will earn you the future you want.
What constitutes progressive & goal oriented choices?
Remember I started by saying the key to your potential is formed by mixing together a number of ingredients. Now, let’s find out what these ingredients are;
Ingredients for progressive & goal oriented choices (P&GOC)
1. Knowledge – of your potential and steps required to link it with success.
Knowledge of your potential – a quick way of spotting your potential is by looking at your abilities. A pointer to your abilities is the activities you enjoy doing; that particular thing that makes you stand out from the crowd.
If you’re not there yet, then ask yourself this question. If all financial obligations were lifted off your shoulders, which activity /work would you love to engage in and look forward to every morning? Do you have the answer? Then that’s the arrow pointing towards your abilities and your potential.
Now that you have identified your potential you need to have knowledge of the steps required to link it with success. You can start by creating a mental picture of what you want to achieve, then break down the process into small steps. And lastly incorporate these small steps into your daily routine.
2. Goal/purpose – the vast deposit of potential lying in you was definitely placed there to help you achieve a divine objective. This divine objective is what we call ‘goal/ purpose’. Presence of goals is what gives daily hustle meaning and brings lasting fulfillment when achieved.
Ask yourself, ‘what purpose is your potential meant to serve?’ The answer to that question is your goal in life. Therefore, align your daily schedule with your goal.
3. Passion – to realize your goal you need to have a compelling desire to achieve it. This means carrying out your day-to-day tasks with energy and self-drive. [SECRET: Passion opens doors of opportunities.]
4. Positive attitude – approach your goals hence your day-to-day activities/ work with confidence and optimism that you’re going to accomplish them. No matter what you may encounter on the way, have a winning mentality.
5. Resilience – I would love to guarantee you a smooth sail in your endeavor but unfortunately I can’t promise. Life is full of ups and downs but this should not get you scared. One thing I can promise is ‘hope’ – no matter how bad your circumstances may be, there is hope for positive outcome. So as you embark on your mission make sure your skin is thick enough to withstand bad weather.
Because I want to see you succeed, I’ll put everything in black and white. In the journey of life, you’ll experience storms but your ability to withstand the side to side tossing will determine your chances of reaching the shore – (your goal). Maybe you’re wondering whether you’re cut out for that. And the answer is a resounding YES. All you need to do is enlist hope and faith; hope for things to work out and faith in validity of your purpose/ calling/ goals. With hope and faith you can withstand any challenge and problem life throws at you.
There you’ve it. Those are the components of what I call progressive & goal oriented choices. And the amazing thing is all that is hidden within you.
Now that the key is in your hands and you know how to use it, confidently slide it into the lock and let your potential bloom into its fullness.
Conclusion
Before I let you go, you need to know that your choices will unlock your potential but it doesn’t stop there. Once you’ve access to the haven, you need to link that massive potential with success. You may have all the information, formulas and ingredients for success but without action nothing will change. So as you make the choices in your mind choose to act too. Because the linking factor between potential and success is action, action and more action.
And the good news is the five ingredients above will motivate power packed actions which will eventually deliver you to success.
All the Best!

Injustice: The Demon of Doom

Injustice is an age-old vice that has tormented humanity since sin found its way to the world. It’s an agent of regression that fights against humanity and posterity. Many mortals have been subject to the burdensome yoke of Injustice at one time or another. With advancing of age, Injustice has gained momentum and has become like a fierce tsunami; it has shaken crucial pillars of our society. The world is writhing in pain in the claws of the demon of doom. Injustice fans the flames of many social evils on one hand and squeezes life out of the dreams of its victims on the other. The despicable demon of doom has successfully managed to lord it over humans who apparently have a strange weak willpower to fight back. This vice is older than all of us; we come, suffer helplessly, lament endlessly and go. Every time a new life checks-in on earth, the world heaves a sigh of relief and rejoices that finally someone has arrived to take the bull by its horns and put to an end the rut

Is The Health Of A Nation A Reflection Of The Health Of Its Families?

Family is the basic unit of society. Therefore, it goes without saying that society is a composition of families. Hence, a morally ill society is a reflection of morally ill families. When we talk of social evils like corruption, injustice, misuse of power etc. more often we shift our focus to leaders forgetting that leadership is just a title; these people are children born and bred in our families. For instance, whenever a leader is exposed on issues of integrity or rather lack of it, we descend upon them with hate and criticism; we demonize them and even ostracize them. What hypocrisy! We adopt holier than thou attitudes and forget that we too are hanging on the same integrity scale; the only difference being, we’ve not been placed under an auditor’s lens (Almost every human being is or will be a leader at some point in their life. Whether you’re heading a nation, a religious body, a learning institution, a home etc. as long as someone is looking up to you for guidance, pro

Ignorance: The Silent Killer

Ignorance is the greatest known enemy of humanity. And who could have said it better than God through Prophet Hosea in a message to His chosen people (Israel)? He said, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” Most social evils in our society stem from ‘limited knowledge’ or 'lack of it'. Take a closer look at your life and recall how many mistakes you’ve made, how many opportunities you’ve missed out, how many ugly outcomes you were unable to prevent etc. all because you were not in the know. A person’s quality of life is to a great extent determined by what they know. The more you’re aware of your circumstances and how to deal with them (i.e. good understanding of your inner potential and how you can tap it and leverage it, coupled with a good understanding of the systems in the world, because a person cannot function in isolation) the greater your chances of experiencing a better life. In short, much suffering plaguing humanity would be avoided if knowledge ch
